The Primrose Centre

The Primrose Centre helps people directly and indirectly affected by breast cancer. They provide support by offering free complementary therapies for the mind and body that might otherwise be unaffordable. Their visitors often describe what they are going through as a journey. They  promise to be there for them every step of the way.

Over the 5th - 6th October 2013 members of staff joined a team collecting for the Primrose Centre outside Marks & Spencer in Orpington and collected an amazing £928.

The Coombe Trust (Street Souls).

The Coombe Trust and Street Souls are more than “a soup run” and distribute sleeping bags, hats, socks, clothing, dental and washing materials in various quantities as they are able to acquire cheaply or for free. They serve a balanced hot meal, rather sumptuous sandwiches, cakes, chocolate, fajitas, sausage on a stick etc., etc. and always plenty of coffee, hot chocolate, soup, orange juice and water. They generally have enough to feed 120 folk.

Twice a month staff from eTraining help Street Souls by attending evenings to help prepare and distribute food and other items for the evening.

The Jimmy Mizen Foundation

The Jimmy Mizen Foundation has been set up as a positive way of remembering the life of Jimmy, who was tragically murdered in May 2008.  Their mission is to make young people safer. They promote participation within the community, increase young people’s awareness of the potential outcomes of actions and support development into independent and responsible individuals.

eTraining has been supporting the Jimmy Mizen Foundation for a number of years though our annual donations.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research Uk for the month of January are raising money through a Dryathlon from the 01/01/14 - 31/01/14. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. They are also entirely funded by the public,
with your help, they can ensure more people beat cancer.

Our very own Tim Rowe took up the dryathlon and raised over £400 for Cancer Research UK

Demelza House

We are pleased to announce that we will be supporting Demelza House as one of our chosen charities. Demelza House provides support for children and young people (0-19) who are not expected to reach adulthood, and offers support to their families.  Children's hospices can differ significantly from adult hospices in that many of the conditions children and young people are suffering from are degenerative in nature and progress over many years.

Over the last few months eTraining staff have been involved in events run by Demelza and were crowned quiz night champions on the 9th May 2014. As well as the quiz night a number of staff have volunteered to help in the gardens around the 6 acre site in Sittingbourne getting the plants ready for the winter.

Action For Children Brands Hatch Bike Challenge

Action for Children meets the needs of children and young people who most need support to achieve their full potential. Through their work and through speaking out, they seek to break the cycle of deprivation. Action For Children challenge injustice and empower children to overcome the obstacles in their lives that hold them back. As part of Action for Childrens fundraising they have organised a cycle challenge around one of the UK's most iconic race circuits Brands Hatch.

On Friday 4th July 2014 our very own Tim Riddoch took part in the Brands Hatch Bike Challenge to see how many laps of the famous 1.2 Mile Indy Circuit he can cycle before the Sun goes down.

Tim managed to raise over £200 for Action for Children.
